What To Expect

So-Cal Solar Inc. aims at making the transition to going solar easy and painless. From signing your contract to installing your system the team at So-Cal Solar Inc. will keep you well informed of every step of going solar. Below you will find our solar timeline to give you a better idea of what to expect.

  1. Contract signed
  2. System designed and  drawings completed within 1 week
  3. Submit Plans to city
  4. Start Interconnection Paperwork (3 days after contract signed)
    1. Changes the billing cycle (Billing cycle does not change until after utility issues PTO)
    2. Informs utility company of your solar system being connecting to the power grid
  5. Start local utility rebate paperwork (3 days after contract signed)
    1. Rebate approval takes about 2 weeks
  6. Plans approved by city 1-4 weeks (depends on the city or county department)
  7. Once we have the permit in hand, we will schedule installation to commence
  8. Installation 5-7 days
    1. Solar mounting hardware installed (Days 1-2)
    2. Solar panels installed (Day 3)
    3. Inverter(s) installed (Day 4)
    4. Solar system Complete (Day 5 or 6)
    5. Final Inspection approved by city or county building department (Day 6 or 7)
  9. 3-4 weeks after city final inspection approval utility company will issue PTO (Permission To Operate)
  10. Customer receives local utility rebate check 45-60 days after city final inspection approval
